1000s of military, DoD contractors and civilians threatened with loss of jobs. Can you be forced to violate your sincerely held religious beliefs?

Form letter available below.  Consider re-writing and incorporating the language from my pastor’s letter which is below.

And of course the answer is no.  You do not have to sacrifice your beliefs.  Believe it or not, however, military guidelines do authorize forced injections but that is a wholly unreasonable and unlikely outcome.

Here is the official military guidance:

Army Regulation 40–562

BUMEDINST 6230.15B

AFI 48–110_IP

CG COMDTINST M6230.4G

The Command will have to allow you to express your views to your Commander and the Chaplain.  Ultimately, the Surgeon General must review these exemptions.  You should consider legal advice before proceeding down this path.

You are not alone – one-quarter to one-third of Navy SEALS seeking Religious or Medical Exemption according to https://justthenews.com/government/security/hundreds-navy-seals-face-being-blocked-deployment-refusing-covid-vaccine?utm_source=breaking&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter

Dear Commander:

My religious advisor is Roman Catholic (RC) Father Kevin Robinson. Based on firmly held beliefs,    […]   must exercise his right to an exemption, as all currently available Covid-19 putative vaccinations make use of fetal stem cells, in either production or testing.

The Roman Catholic Church has consistently upheld the right to life from conception until natural death and considers abortion to be sinful.  Thus, taking an injection which makes use of fetal stem cells, in any way whatsoever, would make one a material cooperator in a grave sin.  Although some church authorities have stated that receiving Covid vaccination could be morally tolerated for very serious reasons, Fr. Robinson insists that no one can be required to use a substance that would make one a material cooperator in an evil act.

In this regard, RC Dignitatis Humanae taught that “[i]n all his activity a man is bound to follow his conscience in order that he may come to God, the end and purpose of life.  It follows that he is not to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his conscience.  Nor, on the other hand, is he to be restrained from acting according to his conscience, especially in matters religious.”

Fr. Robinson has instructed     ….    that the Roman Catholic Church teachings on individual conscience are that “freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs.  (Dignitatis Humanae).

Fr. Robinson and   ….   are fully aware and understand the alleged risks from exercising his religious exemption.
