What a PEBLO does for you

The Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer is one of your most important representatives throughout the IDES process.

A PEBLO will be assigned to you at the start of your Medical Evaluation Board.  They will be with you throughout the entire process and remains the link between you, your commander, and IDES.

Within three days of referral to IDES, your PEBLO will counsel you in detail regarding the process.  They are also responsible for assembling all information that is included in your IDES file.  This includes helping to initiate VA Form 21-0891.

The PEBLO will also obtain other required documents, including non-medical assessment (NMA) from your commanding officer, a line of duty investigation (if necessary) and mobilization orders for Reserve Component Members.
